An exciting opportunity has arisen for a FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT at I&J, Head Office, Cape Town. The purpose of this role is for the preparation, implementation, and roll out of financial reporting templates on financial reporting software as implemented by the I&J Group across all spheres of financial reporting (management accounting, financial accounting, and tax reporting), ensuring accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.  The role is also responsible for the accounting, tax, and annual financial statement reporting of the international operations within the Irvin & Johnson group.

Key Areas of Impact:                  

  • Prepare, review, and analyse the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness, including the performance of account reconciliations.
  • Perform financial accounting duties across all legal entities within the SAP system, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain General Ledger master data and ensure proper maintenance of the trial balance for all entities.
  • Manage cost centre accounting, including the preparation and reporting of monthly, budgeted, and forecasted cost centre expenditures.
  • Account for group charge-outs in accordance with intercompany and corporate policies.
  • Oversee the recurring journal process, including the setup, scheduling, and execution of all recurring journal entries.
  • Review the trial balance for accuracy and reasonableness prior to SAP period-end closing to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide support on ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from various internal stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

  • A Financial Accounting Degree

Requirements

  • 5 years experience as a Financial Accountant
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Advanced Excel
