Unlock Your Potential! We’re looking for a passionate Financial Accountant to join I&J Aquaculture, in Gansbaai, Western Cape. In this role, you will ensure accurate reporting on all financial and administrative issues as well as assisting the Financial Manager with short, medium and long term financial planning and ensuring systems are in place to assist production in all facets.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: Operational Financial Manager
- Direct Reports: 0
Key Areas of Impact:
- Financial and Management Reporting including Financial Analysis and Costing:
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and checks integrity of data
- Ensure all entries processed through the SAP system on a monthly basis which includes:
- Park journal documents in SAP
- Park monthly journals and supplier accruals
- Perform analysis to Trial Balance and execute various statutory reports
- Cash-flow management, reporting and reconciliations
- Compile and complete monthly reporting packs required by Head Office which includes sales, margins and overhead expenditure reports
- Distribute financial reports to management with commentary
- Prepare month-end pack and year-end pack and supporting financial schedules
- Calculate on-going comparison of profitability on products sold
- Cost of potential new products as requested by marketing or management
- Conduct financial evaluations of new projects under consideration
- Prepare power-point presentations
- Business Plan and Rolling Forecasts:
- Gather and collate information from Head of Departments (HODs) & Marketing Department
- Compile Business Plan required by Head Office
- Input phased data for Business Plan into SAP
- Compile revised forecasted financials during the year as requested
- Co-ordinate the annual budget process and assist HODs where required
- Compile annual budget and revisions during the year on request
- Supervision of Stock and Stores - Including Balance Sheet:
- Prepare stock journals and ensure correct stock movement for the business unit
- Prepare, conduct and report on all stock-takes at the business unit
- Projects to improve efficiencies related to inputs to stock systems
- Material Resource Planning (MRP) maintenance and updating process flows
- Capex and Maintenance of Internal Controls:
- Financial controls i.e. stock recons, diesel recons, consumables & stock recons etc.
- Monitor expenditure and update contracts e.g. transport and security
- CAPEX applications & Asset movements
What It Takes to Succeed:
Experience that set you up for success:
- Completed SAIPA Articles with 0 – 1 year post article experience
- OR Diploma with 5 years experience as a Financial Accountant
Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:
- A Degree/Diploma in Finance / Accounting completed
Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success:
- SAP would be ideal
- FMCG OR Manufacturing industry experience
